Oxford has quite clearly not lived up to the high expectations everybody had for him.
But don't get too carried away - Venlo play in the highest division in the Netherlands. It's not like he's dropped down to Dagenham and Redbridge. They are an Eredivisie team and play the likes of Ajax, PSV and Feyenoord.
Admittedly, they also have to deal with Alan 'keep it in your trousers' Pardew's Den Haag.
